Former CPSC Chair Tenenbaum Joins Industry Foundation Team

Recently, the Board of Directors of the American Pyrotechnics Safety & Education Foundation approved retaining  former Chair of the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) Inez Tenenbaum, currently a partner with the Nelson Mullins law firm.  Ms. Tenenbaum will spearhead the development and distribution of age appropriate curriculum and resources to teach young people more about consumer and display fireworks. 

The Foundation is the newly established charitable arm of the APA and among its efforts will be creating fireworks safety education programs for youth, targeting grades K-12.  The purpose behind these educational efforts is to instill in young people an understanding of how fireworks should be used appropriately, discourage misuse, and decrease the number of fireworks related injuries in the U.S. 

The APA is excited to have Ms. Tenenbaum, and the expertise & enthusiasm she brings, join the Foundation’s cause of promoting fireworks safety.
