APA Provides Training Assistance to Fire Service & Government Agencies The APA works closely with members of the fire service & governmental agencies to forward its primary mission of encouraging safety in the design and use of all types of fireworks. APA’s Safety Program Manager, Gregg Smith has conducted dozens of training programs for the states including Ohio, Massachusetts, Missouri & Michigan, tailoring his courses to meet the requirements of individual states. Through these training endeavors, hundreds of officials have been able to gain valuable knowledge & insights into pyrotechnics and further safety efforts in their communities. The APA will conduct a special Enforcement Officials Fireworks Training Program in conjunction with APA’s 62nd Annual Convention, September 21-25, 2009, in Savannah, Georgia. Our special program will cover the three primary segments of the fireworks industry Consumer, Display, and Proximate and feature notable experts in each of these areas.
