SUBJECT:  Kansas City Convention Postponed Until 20202

As we reported earlier this week in the June Sparks, based on the results of the member feedback survey along with the  ongoing economic and international travel uncertainties caused by COVID-19, the APA Board directed staff to explore possible alternatives for this year’s APA Convention in Kansas City.

Working with our third-party provider, HPN Global, we have been successful in negotiating a solution that will have the least financial impact on the association. The Inter-Continental Hotel has agreed to “lift and shift” our convention to late September 2022 without penalty. 

While the APA will have to adjust its FY 2020 budget to account for the lost convention related income, we will at least have an accurate picture of the financial implications.

The APA Board and staff are disappointed that we will not be able to meet in person this Fall. We look forward to the day when we can gather with our industry friends and colleagues and want to alert you to these future meeting dates which have already been contracted:
