APA Advisory - Congress Approves a COVID Relief Package

December 23, 2020

TO:             ,

SUBJECT: Package Includes Additional PPP and Enhanced Unemployment to Help the Hardest Hit Businesses

Late Monday night, December 21, the House and Senate approved a COVID/Omnibus legislative package that is pending President Trump’s signature in the coming days.

The APA has diligently advocated for a second round of the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) and for enhanced unemployment insurance. We are pleased that the COVID relief package includes these two key components. However, last night and early his morning, there have been discussions about amending the package, most likely to increase the $600 stimulus checks to be distributed to individuals and families.

The APA will continue to closely monitor the COVID/Omnibus package and provide additional information to the membership as soon as we obtain clarification on any formal amendments.

Thank you to all of our APA members who have worked so hard to help push this COVID relief package out during the past several months. Hopefully, Congress will act swiftly to address any amendments and a final relief package will be signed soon.

Happy holidays!  May 2021 provide a road to rapid recovery and prosperity!
